Assessment and Promotion Criteria

Classes: IX & X
The Assessment scheme will have an 80 marks component for Board Examination (class X) and Annual Examination (class IX) in all subjects except compulsory subjects to be assessed internally along with a 20 marks component of Internal Assessment. Students have to secure 33 percent in total in each of these components.
The assessment structure for classes IX and X comprises of two Terms i.e. Term -1 and Term -2.

- Periodic Tests: There will be three Periodic Tests in the entire academic year. These tests will be conducted during the year as one being the Half Yearly Exam/Mid Term Test and the other two being Pre Mid Term and Post Mid Term with portion of syllabus cumulatively covered. The school will take the average of the best two tests out of 5 for final marks submission. Annual Examination will be of 80 marks.
- Multiple Assessment (MA) (05 Marks): Multiple Assessment includes observation, oral tests, individual or group work, class discussion, field work, concept maps, graphic organizers, visual representations etc.
- Portfolio (PF) (05 Marks):Portfolios are an extension of note books developed subject-wise. They would include class work and homework assignments that would help evaluate learner's progress. Besides this, portfolio are a space for student to display his/her exemplary work in the related area
- Subject Enrichment Activities (SEA) (5 marks):
For Languages: ASL / Reading / Dictation / Debate/ Public speaking etc.
For Mathematics: Laboratory activities and projects.
For Science: Practical works and activities prescribed by CBSE.
For Social Science: Map and project work as suggested by CBSE.

Co-Scholastic Activities:
For the holistic development of MBS student, co-curricular activities in the following areas will be carried out in school by the teachers and will be graded annually on a 5-point grading scale (A-E). Grading will not have any descriptive indicators and students will not be upgraded based on the co-scholastic grades. The aspect of regularity, sincere participation, output and team work will be the generic criteria for grading in the following co-scholastic activities.
1. Work education (Artifical Intelligence/ Information Technology)
2. Art Education (Visual & Performing Art)
3. Health and Physical Education
Discipline:
Discipline significantly impacts career shaping and it helps to build character. Therefore, students will be graded by the class teachers for discipline in a 3-point grading scale (A,B,C) considering the attendance, sincerity, behaviour and values.
Please Note.: Attendance is compulsory for all the tests held during the academic session. In case a student is absent in any of the Periodic tests/ Half Yearly Examination and Annual Examination, on medical grounds then proper medical certificates from govt. hospital must be submitted to the school
75% attendance is mandatory for students to appear in Annual /Board Examination.
PASSING CRITERIA:
- The qualifying marks for class IX students in each subject shall be 33% in each subject. This implies that the student is expected to score 33% including both Theory component (80) and Internal Assessment (20). However, overall 33% marks is required to promote the students in the next higher class.
- For class IX students offering 6 subjects and failing in two of the six subjects shall be placed in compartment in those subjects. And if any student failing in more than 02 subjects shall be treated as 'Essential repeat'.
