"The future of any nation depends on its children. Let us teach them to be proud of their country." — Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam

On Friday, January 24, 2025, MBS International School celebrated Republic Day with great enthusiasm and patriotic fervor in the Nursery and Kindergarten classes. The young learners came dressed in vibrant tricolour outfits and as iconic freedom fighters like Subhash Chandra Bose, Jawaharlal Nehru, and Rani Lakshmibai. Their adorable costumes and excited smiles set the tone for the day. The celebration began with engaging craft activities, where the children created tricolour flags, paper flowers, and other patriotic-themed crafts, guided by their teachers. These activities not only enhanced their creativity but also instilled a sense of pride in the national symbols.

The celebration also included a singing session where the children sang patriotic songs like "Saare Jahan Se Achha" and "Nanha Munna Rahi Hoon," filling the air with love for the country. Teachers explained the significance of Republic Day in a simple and engaging manner, helping the young learners understand the values of unity and freedom. This engaging activity aimed to educate the young learners about various professions that play vital roles in our daily lives, such as doctors, teachers, police officers, firefighters, and farmers.

“As the fire of Lohri burns bright, may it light up your life with love and positivity”.    Anonymous

On Thursday, 16 January 2025, MBS International School joyfully celebrated the harvest festival of Lohri with its Pre-Primary students. The festivities allowed young learners to embrace the cultural essence of this vibrant occasion.

The students enthusiastically performed traditional Lohri songs, including the popular “Sunder Mundriye,” and showcased their talent through lively Bhangra and Gidda dances. To symbolise the iconic bonfire central to Lohri celebrations, the children created colourful crafts using orange, red, and yellow paper.

Additionally, a PowerPoint presentation was conducted in the classroom to teach students about the festival’s traditions, customs, and significance. These interactive activities not only made the event enjoyable but also provided an engaging way for students to connect with the rich heritage of Lohri.
